The Pix-Star 15-inch frame gives you a big screen at a smaller price. At around $180, it costs $70 less than the Skylight 15 and $70 less than the Nixplay 15.6.

But there is a tradeoff. The 1024 by 768 resolution stays the same as the 10-inch model. On a 15-inch screen, those pixels stretch further. Photos look softer, and you can notice individual pixels up close.

For a frame you hang on a wall and view from several feet away, the resolution is acceptable. Up close on a desk, it looks dated compared to Full HD models.

Everything else about the Pix-Star 15 is the same as the 10-inch version. Free cloud storage, email photo sending, connections to Google Photos, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, and Dropbox. The built-in radio, games, and weather widget are all there too.

The frame is wall-mountable and includes a stand for desk use. The plastic build does not feel as premium as the Aura Walden or Skylight 15. Bezels are thick and the design is more functional than stylish.

If budget is your top priority and you want a large WiFi frame, the Pix-Star 15 is the best deal. Just set your expectations for screen quality. For sharper photos on a big screen, spend more on the Aura Walden.
