The KoKonna is a 7.3-inch colour e-paper frame that runs on a battery. We did not test it in a lab. This page is built from KoKonna's own page and the Amazon listing. The battery is the whole point of it. There is no cord, so you can hang it on a wall with no outlet nearby, or stand it on a shelf across the room from a socket.

Aura quotes three months of battery life for its own e-paper frame. KoKonna's own page quotes up to a year on one charge. Its Amazon listing says 6 to 12 months if the photo changes every day. Either way you charge over USB-C and hang it back up.

E-paper is the trade-off. The screen has no backlight, so it shows photos like a print on paper instead of a glowing panel. Colours are muted next to an LCD frame, and the screen redraws slowly, so this is a frame for one photo at a time rather than a rolling slideshow.

Storage is free and there is no subscription. You send photos from the app, and family can send too.

Buy this if you want a frame somewhere there is no plug. If you want a bright, fast slideshow, buy a normal LCD frame and put it near an outlet.
